Unstan - Rock Art

All of the known rock art at Unstan is on the lintel of the western side cell. There is some confusion regarding this stone,
Henshall describes it as "a replacement" which we usually understand to mean a replica inserted to protect the original from damage.
We have seen photos of the original stone and the surface texture matches the one in our photos exactly, so we do think our photos are of the
original art.
However, we have also seen the photo below of the side cell taken in May 1956, in this the lintel, and a large portion of the walling above it, are totally
missing, and a roof slab of the cell is visible.

So it looks as though the facade of the cell was rebuilt during the consolidation works, presumably
using a stone found in the chamber interior to serve as a lintel.
This means that this stone may not have been the original lintel, and if it was, it may not be in its original orientation.
