The sunhoney recumbent viewed from inside the circle looking SSW. The stone bears many cupmarks that are clearly visible in this low angle illumination photo. This upper surface was probably the inside face of the recumbent originally, but as the stone has been displaced, its initial situation is unknown. As can be seen at the bottom of the picture, the recumbent is cracked and broken, with a large piece missing at the lower right. As heavy cupmarking is also present on the inner face of the Rothiemay recumbent, perhaps these marks are the surviving record of lunar observations carried out millennia ago.
