Shethin resembles nothing more than a pile of field clearance stones, if it was not for two tall stones on the circumference there would not be any clues to its real nature. The majority of the circle stones are low and placed almost contiguously, resembling the outer kerbs of a cairn, these contrast sharply with the two tall stones at the south and WNW, 1.4m and 1.6m high respectively. Burl speculates that this site may be a cairn/ four poster hybrid.
