Looking WNW through the portal stones at
Croft Moraig.
These stones were part of the final phase of construction, being erected at the
same time as the large
stones of the outer circle. Shown erect in plans of the site from 1971, the
northern portal stone has since fallen.
A pit was found near the base of each portal stone, these are thought to have contained
burials.
Located on the outer side of the stones, they would lie in the foreground area of the above
photo.
