Maultanvally is a multi-stone Irish recumbent circle estimated to have had eleven stones originally. We counted seven circle stones on our visit including a really tiny stone at the east. The recumbent stands at the WSW, it is a wide, low stone with a very flat top. From the circle centre, the recumbent has an alignment to a distant hilltop, you can see this for yourself in our VR panoramas. Across the circle from the recumbent stands the surviving portal stone, it is the tallest remaining stone at 1.4m. Within the circle lies a hefty slab of white quartz, this does not stand at the centre, and is a little off the projected recumbent/portal axis.
