Mnajdra - Temple 2

A close-up of the oracle hole viewed from inside the rear intramural room.

This oracle hole communicates between the outer northern apse and rear intramural
room of Temple 2. The hole is the finest of two in the apse, and has a carefully worked outer
opening. As can be seen above there is a marked difference in the floor levels of the chamber
and apse, such that although the oracle hole is a fair way up the wall of the apse, it is positioned
at floor level in the chamber.
