The Avenue.
This feature is a low bank and ditch running away SSW from the henge bank.
In the above photo
the bottom of the henge bank is seen as light grass in the foreground and the
bank and ditch can be
seen running away in the greener section above (ditch to left). Gray's excavation found
that the ditch ended at
the henge bank and was therefore contemporary with, or later than, the henge.
Consensus of opinion is that this feature is not part of the henge and is
probably a much later
field boundary.
