La Hougue Bie - Internal Pics

The northern side-chamber.
A simple rectangular box-like chamber, it has a raised floor retained by a sill stone.
The eastern (right) font slab is probably a modern replacement as there is no stone in this
position in photographs taken during the excavations of the 1920's.
Together with its southern twin, this structure must also support the huge weight of the
single slab that roofs the chamber in this area. A section of this massive stone can
be seen at the top of the photo above.
