This is the inner face of stone 5 (actually
the fourth existing stone clockwise from the eastern portal).
The circled area is said to bear a large partial cup and ring carving. Whilst
this photo taken with
low angle illumination seems to reveal a ring, the grooves that compose it
seemed more like
random natural surface texture to us.
